Ontime feeders parts10/26/2022 The reason I don't feed corn that way, is because they eat it too fast. Yeah, we feed protein free choice except during the deer season. Put 5 hundred pounds in yesterday hit the test button and whammo, corn went flying 6 years old havent fed corn since last February. I leave mine running all year around with or without corn. What is the best, most robust feeder timer on the market? I don't need a ton of features, the deer don't really seem to come to the feeder in daylight anyway, but at least it keeps them on the property. I'm going to have to rebuild them anyway, and replace at least one timer, so that brings me to the question: I'm already running late getting things up and running this year, just been too busy with work this year, only to find out that all my stuff is broken. To say I was ticked would be an understatement. The other one, with a 50 cal ammo can for a box, had wires cut and yanked out of the connectors, lots of cutting and splicing to repair it, only to find out the timer is toast. One feeder, a cheap one with the sliding cover on the side of the timer box, had the latch completely broken off and the cover plate gone. You may remember a thread I posted a while back about cedar choppers.we'll they're gone, but apparently, when you complain to the landowner and he kicks them off, they vandalize your stuff. This year, it looks more like 2-legged varmint damage. Anyway, I've gotten my boxes pretty tough, to the point where they are even hard for me to open and the varmints haven't messed with my stuff for the last year or so. My theory is, forget about cages, they won't mess with the timer box if they can get to the corn on the spinner.so I just feed them a little, coons and squirrels gotta eat too ya know. ONTIME FEEDERS PARTS HOW TOOver time, I figured out how to make them as close to varmint proof as you can get. I'll try and keep this short, but I do need to vent a little bit too.Įver since I started hunting deer seriously, I've had to fix something on my feeders seems like every year.for a while, it was every time I filled them.
